Should the date of service (DOS) of the FFR derived from a CTA be the same as the DOS of the coronary CTA study?

A.

The DOS of the FFR codes should be the date that each portion was performed. If performed on different dates, each portion would be dated for the date it was done. For instance, if the demographic and biometric data are extracted and the images are located, deidentified, and transmitted on Monday, 2/1/2021, then the Category III CPT^® code 0502T would be reported with a DOS of 2/1/2021. If the actual processing of the data and images doesn’t occur until 2/3/2021, then the DOS for Category III code 0503T would be 2/3/2021.
